*YAWN* I am dead tired today - mostly because I went to bed much too late last night. I set out to write an alibi sentence last thing, and it turned into five, or 120 words. Now let's see if I ever wake up enough today to get something more substantial written. *g*

I know I have to think about how to tackle the next scenes first, so maybe it would be better to focus on that than on writing without planning ahead.

Thank you for all your insights on plotting and story structuring!

For the first time last night, I didn't fall asleep but kept writing until shortly after midnight, resulting in a whopping 1300 words for the day. I keep a statistic. It's rare for me to write this much - my normal average is under 300.

But! They're out of jail now, yay! If you have been following my rambling commentary, you may be asking yourself if that means the sex was in jail? The answer is: yes, yes it was. *g* It's not flowing right yet, I will have to go over it a few more times. But the major work on the scene is done.

Two of you have mentioned writing timelines yesterday. How do you plan out your story? What tools do you use to map out plot, timelines, character arcs? I'm interested in finding out!

This is developing into a pattern... I try to write, my eyes fall closed. ;)

TBH, I had no motivation to write at all yesterday, so I postponed it until the very last minute, and of course then I was so tired it was a fight to get anything written. I spent an hour on 200 words. :( But it did make me realize that I'm not quite as ready for the sex scene as I thought. Obstacles kept propping up that I needed to think my way around.

The positive side of writing until I fell asleep was that I woke up thinking about the fic this morning, and now I may or may not have most of the sex scene in my head. We'll see how much of it I will manage to actually write down. ;) I'm starting right now!

ETA: I managed 500 words in just under two hours, and it's only half done and missing one crucial transition. But yay, I finally got it started!

The "internet broke" last night, but luckily it's all working again now, so I can make the daily post. I was worried about that for a bit there last night.

I fell asleep before 10, again, and the morning session yesterday also didn't yield more than 300 words. It wasn't an hour, either.. ;/. I want to start writing that sex scene...!

We've found a new participant! Welcome, [livejournal.com profile] auroracloud!

Still shedding exhaustion day by day. I fell asleep again before 10pm last night, before I had the chance to answer your comments. But I slept a lot better, at least. The vacation will be fully enjoyable soon!

I had started writing before falling asleep, at least, so I have two sentences to show for yesterday. :D I'm already sitting down to write again now, I have an hour set aside this morning, so I'll preemptively add myself to the tally for today.

How are you doing?

Phew, the first day of vacation yesterday was mostly spent sleeping and lazing. I forgot how much I struggle when I have to sleep in a strange bed, so the night wasn't very comfortable. But the vacation is long and I'm sure I'll be used to it soon. Until then, writing in the mornings is out - I just want to go back to sleep.

Let's see if I manage to make some headway on the story tonight. How's your writing coming along?

Arrived alive and well! Looking forward to being lazy for the next five weeks. This is not going to be a very active vacation - maybe except for going swimming as often as possible. ;)

I had about an hour and a half this morning to continue on my story. I was a bit too tired at first, but once I got into it, managed to write some plot, integrating two partial scenes that were already lying around. 900 added words, yay. Still no sex, but they won't be able to trick me much longer. I'll be writing them into the corner soon. *cackles*

How is the weekend treating you?

I managed to write 90 words last night before I was interrupted and had to set the story aside.

But it turns out I wasn't quite feeling well again, after all, because I just fell asleep at 10pm last night. Oi. The night seems to have helped, though, so now I feel well enough for my last day before the vacation. Vacation tomorrow, yay!

That also means that I won't be able to make my daily post in the morning, since I'll be en route and without internet until about 3 pm. I will post after I arrive.

ETA: I edited my last scene again, and sprinkled a few new sentences throughout. I couldn't concentrate on more today, being exhausted from packing and still not at 100% energy from my cold. I'm hoping I'll have time to write a bit while offline tomorrow.

Against all expectations, I managed to write something last night, after all. Unfortunately, they didn't have sex but had an illuminating talk instead. /o\

I'm going to have to see where to go from here, this is not going as planned. ;) But to be honest, that's what I like about writing. The characters never seem to do what I want them to do, and keep surprising me.

I'm ill today, sneezing and sniffling around and generally feeling like crap. No wonder I couldn't concentrate last night. Not looking good for today's writing, and I'm not even sure I'll throw in an alibi sentence. I'd much rather get that cold behind me and sleep as much as possible.

How are you doing today?

ETA: I recovered enough to try writing before going to bed, and I added 300 words. I'm not sure they're going to be usable, but I'm happy I'm feeling better and managed something at all.

Yay, so far I'm counting 8 people who want to participate, and 5 already have managed to write yesterday. This is getting off to a good start!

ETA: and we're up to 9!

Writing:

I am finding it difficult to find time to write in my last week before the vacation. The daily routine is a bit different and I can't sit down to write in the mornings as I usually do. But I'm in the middle of the pivotal scene now - i.e. sex is imminent - so I really want to finally write it! :D

ETA: I didn't have enough concentration to write after all. I edited the 900 word scene I wrote yesterday, but only added a sentence or two in the middle. Better than nothing.

What about you?

Welcome to this month's Write Every Day at my journal, everyone!

What is this all about?

I will be making one post a day where you can check in and let me know whether you've written anything that day. Feel free to discuss anything you like in the comment threads!

[livejournal.com profile] trobadora put it much better than I could here.

I am in the same time zone as [livejournal.com profile] trobadora, and I will try to make the posts in the morning, since that is when I usually write. Things might be a little different this month, since I am going on vacation, but that is my current plan, at least. I expect to have time in the evenings, too, to get back to you and do the tally every day.

Writing:

I didn't have time yesterday because we went to see the new Star Trek movie. I was so keyed up afterwards that I didn't manage to come down all night. Today will be a slog, and I don't hold out much hope for getting the scene written that I've been carrying in my head for two days. :/ But I might find the time for a nap and then I might be up for writing again after all tonight, who knows?

In case you're interested in what I'm writing: it's a Librarians story set in 1611, when they meet Shakespeare. The pairing is explicit Flynn/Eve/Moriarty threesome. It's about half done at 30K, and I've been working on it since January.

What about you? Let me know what you are working on, if you want! I have gleaned some of it during July's round, but I'd be happy to get a current status from you.

ETA: I indeed had a refreshing nap and managed almost 500 words tonight, yay!

Tally:

I don't even know who's participating, but I'm assuming everyone who friended me today will join ;)

I'm going to make a table tally, too, because I love tables. :D I'm planning to just make one table and update it every day, instead of copying it into every post. The (as of yet empty) table post is here.

Day #01: [livejournal.com profile] avon, [livejournal.com profile] esteliel, [livejournal.com profile] fan_girlishness, [livejournal.com profile] miss_morland, [livejournal.com profile] navaan, [livejournal.com profile] trobadora, [livejournal.com profile] zippitgood (7 of 9)
