I still feel like I've been put through the wringer from yesterday's exertions. But that means I'm taking the whole day off and will move as little as possible today. Those are good conditions for writing. :D

Writing:

I'm confident I'll have time to write today, before I really forget everything I'd already planned.

ETA: my Internet broke last night, sorry for the delay in comments. I managed 800 words before I went to bed, and am pretty happy with my progress this week.

Organization:

I can't believe the month of August is already over! It was quite a lot of fun, I feel like I got to know you a little better. I hope you had fun participating. [livejournal.com profile] zippitgood is taking over tomorrow! I'm definitely going to keep writing and checking in with her next month. Hope to see you there, too!

Writing:

I'd already decided to go to bed last night when I left a comment on a fic, and noticed how wordy it was. So I decided to stay up and try to write, and lo and behold, 1000 words just flowed right out. And they don't even sound horrible now. Yay!

My brain didn't even want to stop after I'd gone to bed at midnight and kept suggesting more words. I am on a day trip today - let's hope I still remember any of those words tonight. ;)

ETA: Am dead tired, the day consisted mostly of climbing stairs and I have no energy left at all. Last thing I want to do is break my streak, though, so I wrote down one of the snippets I still remembered from last night - a little more than an alibi sentence, but only just.

Organization:

I haven't heard from [livejournal.com profile] zippitgood. Do we have to make backup plans for September?

ETA: zippitgood wrote me back today and she's ready to take over on Thursday! So everything will go according to plan!

Writing:

It feels like my thoughts have coalesced enough to be written down. I'm looking forward to writing the things I've come up with!

I hope I'll have time today. The weather has cooled down considerably, and there are a few chores I've been postponing and need to tackle now.

ETA: did all the chores and read my flist, which ate up my time. I still wrote 350 words and have now cracked the 40K mark. :D

Organization:

[livejournal.com profile] zippitgood had volunteered for September, I hope that plan still stands? I contacted her to ask, but haven't heard back from her.

Writing:

A thunderstorm came by last night and lowered the temperature somewhat. Let's hope this is beneficial for concentration.

ETA: I started the transition into the next scene, 350 words so far, and I might write a little more today, I don't know yet. I thought about motivations as much as I could and still don't know what exactly she's thinking. I'll just have to find out where writing it leads me, I guess. :)

And a relaxing Sunday to everyone!

I'm still missing a major emotional tipping point for one of my main characters, so I've mostly done thinking about this instead of writing anything. My brain seems to be completely on board with that, because I woke up this morning with more ideas. Let's see how long it takes me to think through her motivations before I can start writing.

ETA: Alibi sentence for me. Did a lot of thinking, though.

It's the weekend! I hope you're enjoying it and that you have plenty of time to write.

I slept a little better last night, and I have the whole morning free. As usual, I dawdled away my time, but there's still an hour or so left... let's see if I can make something of that.

ETA: Yes, that was a productive day. I wrote 1300 words in two sessions.

I'm a bit frustrated this morning, because I didn't sleep well and my head is all fuzzy. I'd hoped to make some decent progress again today after the largely unsuccessful last few days. All I want to do is go back to bed... luckily, I'm on vacation and have nothing important to do. :)

ETA: As usual, napping helped, and I felt awake enough in the evening to write a bit. Some 600 words of transition, feeling my way into the next scene. I'm totally okay with that for today.

I hope you're doing better?

Writing:

As suspected, the things I wrote over the last three days sucked. Not that I went in the wrong plot direction, but they were stilistically terrible. I needed to rewrite it all. That's what I did last night, and got 300 words for my trouble.

Unfortunately, I went to bed with the feeling that the plot sucks, too. I thought I could space out the ending over three chapters, but now I feel like I don't have that much time or it'll get boring. But I don't want to cut all the sex. ;)

Dilemma. I'll see if I can trouble my beta for plot advice.

ETA: did some fiddling with the character arcs and am now no longer quite so pessimistic about my ability to pull off some kind of prolonged plot line that isn't boring. So far I only did some editing, but I'll try and sit down to write more tonight.

And you? Is the weather as good where you are, too?

My brain helfully provided sexytimes for my characters tonight, which definitely don't fit my current story. Oops. Well, I guess I should be glad it didn't pick completely different characters. ;) I can always write another story about them.

Let's see if I can make the current plot progress today first. ;)

How is your writing coming along this week?

My mind's a blank. My cold refuses to completely go away and it's hard to think again today. But I'm at a good point in my story. I only have three chapters to write. That sounds doable in the four weeks I have left.

How are you doing?

ETA: My head refuses to clear, but I added one tiny aspect of 80 words that came to me last night. I'll call that a success for today.

I slept in today, and finally feel awake again. Today is a completely free Sunday for me, so I'm hopeful I can get some undisturbed writing time in.

Hope things are going well for you, too!

ETA: Nothing went as planned today, and I was very very frustrated this afternoon. I was surprised to find that I've still managed to write 900 words today. That's a lot more than average, yay.

I hope I have finally put my cold behind me. *knocks on wood*

Today's going to be a busy day - starting in half an hour, I'll be going from one appointment to the next, until 10pm tonight. So I'll try and get some more done on that character arc sheet right now. That way I can at least think about the story while I'm away from the computer.

ETA: The character arc happened and is now up to date. I'm going to count this even though I didn't manage to turn it into any actual words for the story. But I can tackle that tomorrow.

I'm glad to hear that you are doing well (and trobadora is still hanging in there. Best wishes to you!). miss_morland has finished her thesis and started on new fic, auroracloud is writing her novel full steam ahead, and navaan is still writing on her own and checking in every few days. esteliel is working on an exchange fic due in four weeks.

I haven't heard from avon in two days, but it was a hot and busy week. She's been steadily writing on her novel, too.

What's up with you, [livejournal.com profile] afrozenflowerr, [livejournal.com profile] plaid_slytherin, and [livejournal.com profile] zippitgood?

Okay, so I managed 200 words last night, but I'm not sure I can use them as is. I really need to think more about the character dynamics in this scene so it doesn't stay as boring and straightforward tell-tell-tell as it is now.

How are you doing? Everyone's pretty busy this week, it seems.

ETA: I decided to update my character arcs so I can get that constellation figured out. Writing any more before I've done that makes no sense. Got halfway through it and now I have to sleep.

Day #19: [livejournal.com profile] afrozenflowerr, [livejournal.com profile] auroracloud, [livejournal.com profile] esteliel, [livejournal.com profile] fan_girlishness, [livejournal.com profile] miss_morland, [livejournal.com profile] trobadora (6 of 10)

Writing:

Oi, so the alibi sentence I sat down to write last night turned into 500 words. :D

I'm not sure I will be able to use all of them, though. I should think more about how to connect to the next canon event.

My story is set within an episode, and only goes slightly AU on certain aspects, so I have a pretty rigid framework into which to fit my plot. Now I have to get through two, maybe three, scenes of plot until I can tackle the next sex scene. I'm confident I can keep my momentum going until then. *g*

Still not quite 100%, but I'm still going to do a lot of walking today. Let's see if I have enough energy left this afternoon to write anything.

At least I am mentally prepared to write the next scenes now. I've been thinking back and forth on it for the last few days, and rewatching parts of the episode, so I'm all set. I hope. :)

Writing:

Thank you for all the good wishes. A night of sleep has already helped a lot, but I'll take it slow today. Which means I'll have a lot of time to think about my story! :D

ETA: I did a long-overdue reread of the first five chapters of my story and edited little details that don't fit the developed plot anymore. It only got 100 words longer in the process, but at least now it has fewer factual errors. ;D

Tally:

Table tally

Day #16: [livejournal.com profile] auroracloud, [livejournal.com profile] avon, [livejournal.com profile] esteliel, [livejournal.com profile] fan_girlishness, [livejournal.com profile] navaan, [livejournal.com profile] trobadora (6 of 10)

Ugh. I caught a summer cold. Everything hurts. The thought of concentrating hurts.

Keep commenting, and I will get back to you as soon as I feel the capacity for encouragement again.

ETA: A nap has helped, but I didn't want to force myself to write more than an alibi sentence, so that is all for today.

Tally:

Day #15: [livejournal.com profile] auroracloud, [livejournal.com profile] avon, [livejournal.com profile] esteliel, [livejournal.com profile] fan_girlishness, [livejournal.com profile] miss_morland, [livejournal.com profile] navaan, [livejournal.com profile] trobadora (7 of 10)

I had the whole morning free and dawdled my writing time away. Ooops. Well, vacation is vacation. I'll see if I can manage anything before lunch, at least.

Still fiddling with the sex scene instead of writing the next scene... . The story got 50 words longer in the process, so I guess it counts. I still have a few more things in mind to improve it further.

I'm not sure I will be able to write much more than an alibi sentence today, though, because I will be out of the house almost all day.

ETA: the expected company was almost two hours late and I managed to write 300 words (all still in that same sex scene), so I call today a full success! My story now has the beautiful length of 34567 words. :D
